In a statement to the press on Saturday, Police Commissioner Mr. Hussaini Gumel confirmed that security personnel are on high alert and fully prepared to bolster existing security measures to facilitate a smooth visit.
Gumel emphasized that detailed operational plans have been disseminated to officers tasked with security provision at each location slated for the First Lady's visit. He underscored the command's commitment to ensuring a secure environment for all activities during the visit, reiterating the deployment of ample armed personnel to safeguard Mrs. Tinubu before, during, and after her arrival.
Furthermore, the commissioner disclosed the commencement of "Operation Show Force" in collaboration with other security agencies to demonstrate readiness for the visit. This initiative aims to reassure residents and guests, allowing them to welcome the First Lady and her delegation without concerns of security risks.
In light of the event, Gumel urged political party leaders to urge their followers to refrain from engaging in any form of violence or thuggery. He emphasized a zero-tolerance policy towards any disruptive behavior, warning of strict enforcement and prosecution of offenders.
Additionally, as part of the visit's agenda, a hall at Maryam Abacha University is set to be named in honor of Mrs. Tinubu, further symbolizing the significance of her visit to the state.
