In a deeply saddening development, a tragic incident has unfolded at Nasarawa State University (NSUK), Keffi, involving the demise of a 21-year-old 100-level female Microbiology student, Maikeffi Redemption Sarah. The heartbreaking incident occurred on a Friday evening at an off-campus lodge near the Family and Friends Hotel area, opposite Nasarawa State University, Keffi. According to information gathered by RALD NEWS MEDIA, Sarah, overwhelmed by emotional turmoil and depression, ingested a poisonous substance, marking a devastating end to her promising life.
The distressing news was confirmed by a male friend of Sarah, who shared the heart-wrenching details on Facebook. In a phone call, he expressed shock and disbelief over the sudden loss. Their last conversation on Thursday revealed plans for Sarah to attend a wedding in Akwanga on Saturday, intending to return on Sunday. The unexpected tragedy has left not only the friend but also others in profound grief.
Despite efforts by fellow students and neighbors to intervene and administer palm oil, their attempts to save Sarah proved futile. Her lifeless body has been transported to the mortuary in Keffi. A relative, using Facebook as a platform, announced the scheduled burial on the same Saturday in Akwanga, Sarah's hometown. The community and university now grapple with the shock and sorrow surrounding the untimely loss of a promising young individual.
