During an interview with Saturday Beats, where he discussed the inspiration behind his album’s title, ‘Trench to Triumph,’ he clarified that the title signifies his journey from humble beginnings to his current success.

“At the age of seven, my family moved from Orile Iganmu in Lagos to a cramped ‘face-me-I-face-you’ apartment in Ojo.

We lived with about nine or ten people sharing a single room. As the eldest child in my family, I encountered significant financial challenges while growing up. I was frequently sent home from school due to unpaid fees, and I had to take the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) five times.

“During that time, I was devoted to my music and also assisted my mother in her fruit-selling business. On occasion, I even hawked fruits in the busy traffic of Lagos.

“Transitioning from such a life to being signed by Mavin Records and making my way towards becoming a global superstar represents my personal triumph. I once lived in the trenches, and now I am triumphant,” Crayon revealed.
