 POLITICAL TURMOIL UNFOLDS IN ONDO STATE AS PDP LAMBASTS AKEREDOLU'S ADMINISTRATION, APC FIRES BACK

In a recent development, the Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) criticized Governor Rotimi Akeredolu's administration, asserting that the state is adrift under his leadership. According to The Punch, 33 out of 35 State Executive Council members expressed confidence in the governor, but the PDP dismissed this as a mockery.

The PDP, through its Publicity Secretary, Mr. Kennedy Peretei, released a statement titled ‘Akeredolu’s cabinet dances naked in the market square,’ highlighting concerns about the state's political situation. The party questioned the legitimacy of the vote of confidence, especially given the governor's prolonged absence.

Despite the PDP's criticism, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) defended Akeredolu. The APC's Director of Publicity, Mr. Steve Otaloro, labeled the PDP's statement as a baseless attack. Otaloro emphasized that the vote of confidence reflected Akeredolu's accomplishments and leadership qualities. The APC particularly praised the governor's commitment to good governance, integrity, and project implementation monitoring.

The political tension in Ondo State seems to be escalating as both major parties exchange accusations and defend their positions on the state's governance.
