Breaking: APC Chairman Advises Atiku And Peter Obi To Wait Until 2031 For Presidential Ambition After Supreme Court Upholds Tinubu’s Election

The national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has suggested that the 2023 presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, should defer their presidential aspirations until the year 2031. This advice from the leader of the ruling party followed the Supreme Court’s confirmation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory in the February 25, 2023 election in Abuja.

Ganduje, through a statement from his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, conveyed to the two presidential contenders that there would be no presidential vacancy in the Villa until 2031. Nevertheless, he encouraged Atiku and Obi by stating that there’s still a chance for them to realize their aspirations by 2031.

He expressed, “This is democracy. Tinubu’s triumph is a triumph for democratic governance in the nation. There remains an opportunity for both Obi and Atiku to pursue their presidential ambitions following President Tinubu’s second term tenure in 2031.”

Ganduje also commended both Atiku and Obi for their determined efforts to expand the boundaries of democracy and the rule of law by taking their case to the highest court in the land.
